I realize this is slightly off topic, but thought I would go ahead and ask. EE has a whole chapter dedicated to Business & Institutional Records. But I always wondered how a researcher would even begin to get access to private banking or insurance records that are presumably still held by instructions?
This record has gone through a number of iterations all of which could have introduced errors. I want to be sure when I cite the marriage it that it is clear that this is three steps away from the original. I used EE 7.31 Typescripts of Registers as my guide.

It appears that FamilySearch.org has a new format for books and I'm curious how to cite them. I have a particular item that is listed both in the catalog which includes a microfilm number but when I go to the digital format it takes me to the "Books" format and the "ID" number there is different from the microfilm number in the "Catalog" section. Here are the links to both the digital format in the Book section and the catalog section. How do I cite the one in the book section?
I'm struggling a bit here on when [private address] and/or [private e-mail] should be used. I am working on embedding citations for my personal family documents before I upload them to my public tree. I want to share these records with other relatives but also want to ensure that the records can be traced back to me as holding the original copies. I think it is important for me to provide this information rather than using the private phrase.

On the Library and Archives Canada (LAC) website, I've found the Nominal Roll containing Private David Murison. Unfortunately; I'm having trouble figuring out how to cite a pdf'd document, which is part of a collection of similar documents. The organization of the LAC site adds so substantially to the confusion that I'm not sure where to start. Just getting to the document is a "labour of love."

The church records I want to cite were digitized and compiled by a professional genealogist, copyrighted and put on his website for personal use. I'm confused about whether to use QuickCheck Model Image copies: digitized online with the church and series as the lead element or Derivatives Church Records Database, online with the compiler as the lead element. These are digitized copies of original church records, so are they considered derivative?
I have not been able to any examples of citing the Norwegian census record for 1900. I think I have a good format but cannot find translations for some of the items I see in the image. Ancestry translates Taellingskreds to Enumeration District, but I can't find any verification translating that word. The word I seem to be struggling with is "brugs." Does anyone here know what that translates to?

I've finally started to get a fair amount of my records cited, transcribed and filed. I have recently been reviewing my citations of ship's manifests, because (hopefully) I've learned a bit since I did them.
In doing some of my recent citations, I've noticed the use of citation statements like "; imaging ...." This form was utilized on the forums, but I don't see it when searching in the EE book (3rd ed.) I believe the instance I remember was in imaged books of the Scottish Calendar of Confirmations.

On 2 February 2002, I ordered images of 4 statutory register certificates; one for a marriage and 3 for births. As was the routine at the time, the correct references for ordering the images was determined by searching the online International Genealogical Index (IGI) and submitting an order form to the "Family & Church History MAIL SERVICES". All of the images came from FHL fiche 6,035,516 (see attached order form image).
