Citation Issues

Hello - Add this to the dumb question/newbie file. I am working on a book about a series of people. I am providing short bios and any other interesting information I can find on them.  My question is this.  If I write "All the following children were baptized at St. Anne's on Mackinac Island." Do I still have to cite it in an end note?  I am not intending this to be an academic research book but as an aid to Mackinac area researchers. Other than some minor conclusions, this is strictly a family history book.  Any suggestions?

I'm thoroughly confused by the film numbers on FamilySearch.

The record detail page for a specific record I viewed in the "Connecticut Marriages, 1640-1939" collection lists two numbers, a "GS Film Number 001316019" and a "Digital Folder Number 007730398".

In the film viewer, the second number appears as "Film # 007730398" at the top of the screen, but the first image on the film shows the first number (without the leading zeroes), 1316019.

I would like to cite a Declaration of Intention (to become a citizen of the USA).  What started out seeming like a simple exercise has turned confusing.  The declaration I'd like to cite is available at Ancestry and Family Search.  Both sources seem to be from the same microfilm, yet the Ancestry copy contains an image which reads "1543, 25" (which is appropriate for the NARA microfilm) that the FamilySearch microfilm lacks.

I've looked at an instance (page 58 of EE) of using search strings in the Footnotes, but the punctuation for multi-parameter instances is problematic. How does one punctuate a clause containing multiple search fields already containing their own punctuation characters. Am I missing another example that addresses this?

I'm not sure what format to follow in the following instance. Could you point me to the correct section and associated QuickCheck in the EE book?

I have received a certified photocopy of a longhand marriage certificate, from the Pope County, Minnesota, Recorder, for the marriage of John Olson HOFFOS and Bertha Maria LEE on 25 Feb 1883 at the home of Ole B. LEE. It is certified as a, "full, true and complete copy of the original document" on record with that office in Book B of Marriages on Page 215. It is also dated, stamped and signed.

I have 6 letters from the 1920s-1930s that I am going to cite.  These are on business letterhead and are letters of recomendation not addressed to anyone in particular. My grandfather worked as a cooper.  The letters from his employers stated he did good work but had to be let go because there wasn't enough work for him to do. He worked for periods of time then on to the next employer.  He worked for one of the employers 4 different times.

I've searched the forums, but I couldn't find a post that I thought answered my situation.

I'm starting to work on my own genealogy, with myself. I have in my possession the original marriage certificate that was issued when I was married. The certificate was issued by the county clerk's office.

The top of the document states "Certificate of Marriage". The bottom of the document states "LICENSE ISSUED BY THE CLERK OF _______COUNTY____________19______" blanks filled in with the date the document was issued.

I'm wondering how to properly write a reference note for "Torrey's New England Marriages to 1700," a collection offered online by the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) on their American Ancestors website. This is the online version of a book published by NEHGS in 2011, and is a transcription of Clarence Almon Torrey’s 12-volume manuscript. A print version came out in 1985 (minus the references) and then NEHGS produced a CD-ROM version in 2001. The 2011 online version is derived from the CD-ROM version.

I have a minor question that developed as I reviewed the Evidence Explained (EE) book.

When constructing a citaton, using QuickCheck Models, there is a field called, "WEBSITE TITLE". The example content of this field is often shown as, "Ancestry.com". I believe the ".com" denotes the American site. There is also a Canadian site, "Ancestry.ca" and even an, "Ancestry Library Edition".

I read over the sections of Evidence Explasined that relate to Online Database Entries (Canadian Archives). I am having a little problem understanding the functionality of each of the segments of the "First Reference".
